This notice explains how Launchday Web ("we", "us") handles personal information when you visit launchdayweb.com, chat with us or become a client. We're the controller of this information. Questions or requests: hello@launchdayweb.com.
What we collect
- Live chat: the messages you send, the page you were on, the currency you were viewing and, if you leave it, your email address.
- Emails and project information: your name, business details, contact details and anything you send us for your project, such as text, photos, logos and login details for your existing site.
- Payments: card payments are handled by Stripe. We see the payment amount and status, never your full card number.
- Website statistics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies or track you across other websites, and we only see totals such as page views and countries.
- Stored in your own browser: your chat conversation and the currency you picked are saved in your browser so they're still there when you return. They stay on your device, and you can clear them by clearing your browser data.
We don't use advertising cookies and we don't sell your information.
Why we use it
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Replying to your messages and preparing quotes | Our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or steps you ask us to take before a contract |
| Designing, building and supporting your website | To carry out our contract with you |
| Invoices, accounts and tax records | Legal obligation |
| Understanding which pages are useful (anonymous statistics) | Our legitimate interest in improving our website |
Who helps us
We use a small number of trusted services to run our business. They only process your information to provide their service to us:
- Cloudflare: hosts our website, stores live chat messages and provides visit statistics.
- Telegram: delivers live chat messages to our team so we can reply quickly.
- Zoho Mail: our email.
- Stripe: card payments.
- GitHub: stores website code and project files for client projects.
Some of these companies process information outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.
How long we keep it
- Live chat messages are automatically deleted after 30 days.
- Enquiries that don't become projects are deleted within 12 months.
- Client project information is kept while we work together and for support afterwards. Invoices and accounting records are kept for 6 years, as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you,
- correct anything that's wrong,
- delete your information (unless we have to keep it, for example for tax records),
- stop or limit how we use it, or object to it being used,
- send your information to you or someone else in a common format.
Email hello@launchdayweb.com and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We'll update this notice if the way we handle information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
